Join us at the location where Steven Spielberg filmed “Schindler’s List.” In addition to gaining valuable insights into a site often overlooked but just as significant as Auschwitz-Birkenau, you will exchange authentic wartime food ration cards for bread made using the original WWII recipe. After leaving the camp, you’ll be treated to a hot beverage and ascend Krakow’s oldest mound to enjoy a stunning panoramic view of the city.

The Płaszów concentration camp in Kraków was one of the most notorious Nazi labor camps in Poland during World War II. Established in 1942 on the grounds of former Jewish cemeteries in the Podgórze district, the camp initially served as a forced labor camp for Jews but later evolved into a concentration camp where thousands of prisoners, mainly Jews but also Poles and Roma, were brutally exploited and murdered.

The camp’s infamous commandant, Amon Göth, was known for his cruelty, a portrayal of which was immortalized in the film “Schindler’s List.” Płaszów also served as a holding site for prisoners from other camps and a transit point for those being sent to extermination camps.

After the war, much of the camp was destroyed, but today the site houses a symbolic cemetery and memorials commemorating the victims. Płaszów remains an important place of remembrance, reminding us of the atrocities of the war and the Holocaust.
