Start your journey in Kraków following the famous Royal Route through the Old Town all the way to Wawel Hill. Walking along this UNESCO World Heritage route, you will discover the history of royal coronations, city legends, and remarkable architecture. From Floriańska Street through the Main Market Square, then along Grodzka and Kanonicza Streets, the path leads you to Poland’s national symbol – the Royal Castle on Wawel Hill.

The tour starts every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 9 a. m. and Wednesday at 7 p. m.

You meet our guide at starting point – on Matejko Square at the Grunwald Monument.

During the tour there are main highlights on the route:

  • Florian’s Church A historic Romanesque–Baroque church in Kraków, founded in the late 12th century and dedicated to St. Florian, patron of firefighters, housing relics of the saint and notable for its role in local religious and university life.
  • Florian Gate and the Barbican  A well-preserved medieval defensive complex featuring a fortified gateway and a circular barbican once protecting the city.
  • Floriańska Street  A busy historic thoroughfare lined with shops, cafes, and historic buildings that leads from the city gate to the Main Market Square.
  • Main Market Square  Europe’s largest medieval market square, bustling with traders, street performers, and historic landmarks.
  • Cloth Hall (Sukiennice)  A Renaissance-era trading hall at the center of the square, historically the city’s main commercial hub and now home to market stalls and a museum.
  • Mary’s Basilica (no interior visit)  A striking Gothic church overlooking the square, famous for its twin towers and the trumpet signal (hejnał) played hourly from the taller tower.
  • Town Hall Tower  The solitary remnant of Kraków’s former town hall, offering panoramic views from its top and displaying Gothic architecture.
  • Grodzka Street  A historic street connecting the Main Market Square to Wawel Hill, lined with churches, palaces, and religious institutions.
  • Church of Sts. Peter and Paul  A Baroque church notable for its monumental facade and the procession of apostle statues flanking the entrance.
  • Andrew’s Church  A Romanesque-Gothic church and former fortress church, recognizable by its compact, fortified appearance.
  • Kanonicza Street  One of Kraków’s oldest streets, featuring well-preserved aristocratic houses and a scenic route up toward Wawel.
  • Wawel Royal Hill  The historic seat of Polish kings with a castle complex and cathedral overlooking the Vistula River, symbolizing national heritage.

Tour

  • The duration of the tour is approximate. Krakow Tours by Jordan Group cannot be held liable for any delays, irregularity, strikes, loss or left of luggage and of any other personal item.
  • Krakow Tours is not responsible for mechanical breakdowns, government actions, weather, acts of God, misconnections or related expenses to/from flights or other circumstances beyond its control.
  • Once your place an order on the tour is confirmed any cancellation or change will be subject to cancellation penalties or change fees.
  • The trip does not include admission to museums with additional fees

Starting and ending points

  • Starting point is Matejko Square at the Grunwald Monument.
  • The tour ends at the Wawel Royal Hill.

Language

  • The tour is operated in English. Other languages are possible on your request, please order in advance

Discounts

  • Children discount is for children under 18 years old.
  • Children up to 3 years old can go for free.

Cancellation and refunds

  • It is possibe to refund incurred costs, without giving any reason within 14 days from the date of purchase in accordance with the Consumer Rights Act of 30 May 2014. (Journal of Laws of 2014, item 827 as amended). In case of cancellation after that period of time a refund can be made up to 24 hours before a tour departure – less 25% cancellation fee.
  • Krakow Tours will not refund any money due to arriving late for tour. 
  • Claims should be submitted to Krakow Tours by Jordan Group in writing no later than 30 days after the end of the tour and must be accompanied by appropriate documentation evidencing amounts to be refunded

No shows

  • Krakow Tours will not refund unused or partially used features including such items as hotel, car rental, sightseeing tours, transfers and attraction entrance fees.

Tips: 

Tips for services of a personal nature and to staff for services provided are not included in any of the packages and are left to your discretion.

Law: 

  • Customer contract with Krakow Tours Jordan Group is subject exclusively to Polish Law and Jurisdiction for Polish Tours and Packages and any other travel arrangements.
  • It is possibility to refund incurred costs, without giving any reason within 14 days from the date of purchase in accordance with the Consumer Rights Act of 30 May 2014. (Journal of Laws of 2014, item 827 as amended).
  • To guard against unforeseen circumstances, we strongly recommend you purchase optional travel insurance.
  • Krakow Tours reserves the right to change these Terms of Use without notice to you.
